Navigating Europe, One Rail at a Time

There is something truly magical about watching the European countryside roll by from a train window. From the snow-capped peaks of the Swiss Alps to the sun-drenched vineyards of southern France, traveling by rail isn’t just about getting from point A to point B—it’s about the journey itself.

But let’s be honest: planning a multi-country European train trip can be overwhelming. Between different railway operators, confusing booking platforms, varying luggage rules, and the resurgence of night trains, it’s easy to feel lost.

That’s exactly why I created MyEuroTrain.

Who is Behind MyEuroTrain?

Hi, I’m Piter/ The EuroTrain Team, the founder and main writer behind this site.

I am a passionate rail traveler and logistics nerd who has spent countless hours navigating the European railway network. I’ve slept in the compact cabins of the ÖBB Nightjet, marveled at the engineering of the French TGV, and figured out the exact best seat to book on the Bernina Express to get that perfect photo.

I started MyEuroTrain because I was tired of seeing outdated, generic, or overly complicated travel advice online. I wanted to create a hub where practical, on-the-ground, and up-to-date (for 2026 and beyond) train travel advice is presented clearly and honestly.

What You Will Find Here

MyEuroTrain is your comprehensive, independent guide to European train travel. We focus on:

  • Honest Train Reviews: In-depth looks at the comfort, cleanliness, and reality of traveling on Nightjets, European Sleepers, high-speed trains (AVE, ICE, TGV), and regional connectors.
  • Practical “How-To” Guides: Step-by-step advice on how to book the cheapest tickets, how to use the Eurail/Interrail pass without getting fined, and how to navigate major hubs like Paris Gare de Lyon or Frankfurt Hbf.
  • Scenic Route Itineraries: Curated guides to the most breathtaking panoramic train journeys in Europe, complete with tips on which side of the train to sit on.
  • Real Traveler Tips: Advice on traveling with luggage, bringing pets, finding Wi-Fi that actually works, and staying safe as a solo traveler.

Our Editorial Promise

Trust is everything when you are planning a trip. Here is our promise to you:

  1. Accuracy First: Train schedules, prices, and policies change frequently. We regularly update our guides to reflect the current reality of European rail travel. (Note: Always double-check with the official carrier before booking!)
  2. Unbiased Opinions: If a train’s Wi-Fi is terrible or a sleeper cabin is too noisy, we will tell you. We don’t sugarcoat our reviews.
  3. Independence: MyEuroTrain is an independent project. While we may use affiliate links to support the site (at no extra cost to you), our recommendations are based purely on real travel experience and thorough research.
